Where the Colossus is about breaking armour, the Toad Prince is about ground. It spits poison, slime and spines across the arena, leaps at you and lashes out with its tongue, and the fight becomes a matter of moving well and reading the floor. Its servants on the way down have taught you its colours: the orange ring of the leap, the line of the tongue.

It plays fair. After spitting it never leaps straight away, so you always have time to read the ring. Below half health it rests less between attacks. When it falls, your reward waits in the chest of the reward grotto.

The reward chest with the Toad Prince Gland, one Rare Scroll (Bloodsteel or Stormcaller), a 15 percent chance at a Legendary Scroll (Stormward), a 10 percent chance at the Totem of the Lost Friend, a 50 percent chance at its music disc, and Keldite, Astral Dust, crystal shards, diamonds, emeralds and golden apples.
