A Pearlclam never moves on its own, but it is never quite still. It breathes, its shell rising and falling on the pool bed, now closed, now resting a little open, now wide. Come rushing in and it snaps shut; wait calmly and you can watch it open again.

Over a stretch of minutes a clam grows a pearl and opens now and then to show it. Right-click the open clam to take it: usually a Pearl, sometimes a Luminous Pearl and, rarely, a Hollow Pearl. Gilded clams grow the rare ones more often. Carry a clam home in a water bucket, pearl and progress included, and set it down in your own pool to start a pearl farm.
