The buzzing grows louder before a Siphonfly arrives. It circles you once, dives and latches on, and then it drinks: every second a little of your health, while its green abdomen swells and darkens. Any hit knocks it loose.
Once it has drunk its fill it lumbers away and leaves you in peace for a while. It feeds on animals too, but never drains them below a safe level, so the slopes do not run out of prey.
