When a Cinder Beetle spots you, it pulls its shell halves together into a dome. For that moment it barely feels your blows and its cracks glow. Then it charges straight ahead and slams into whatever is in its path, knocking it away.

Step out of its line before the charge and use the short pause after it. Up close it simply bites.
